Gyms, Hiking, and Biking in Bandon

A healthy body and a healthy soul are inextricably linked, and Bandon has many opportunities to strengthen both.

Indoor Fitness Centers

Bandon’s three indoor fitness centers, Bandon FitnessCore 10 Fitness, and Core Ten Fitness South, offer a variety of ways to improve strength, cardiovascular ability, and/or flexibility, and they help make the exercise enjoyable. At Bandon Fitness, members find cardiovascular and strength equipment, functional training, yoga classes, and tailor-made training programs, all included in the cost of membership. Non-members can purchase daily, weekly or monthly passes. A variety of fun and challenging group exercise classes are available to members at both Core 10 Fitness‘ locations, including yoga and bootcamp classes. They also offer private personal training.

Walking, Jogging, and Hiking

Bandon is also perfectly suited for those looking for outdoor walks, jogs, and hikes many within its city limits. Bandon City Park, located on 11th St. just a quarter mile from beach access, includes a loop around the park on flat paved paths totaling almost 1/2 mile. If you would like to add a walk on the beach, continue west on 11th St. and walk another quarter mile to Kroenenberg County Park where you’ll find stairs that lead to beautiful beaches. Walking along the harbor and down the streets of Old Town is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air, and you can get your fill of people watching while you’re at it. Old Town starts under the arch at the intersection of Highway 101 and Delaware Ave. SE.

The ability to walk and jog on the beach is one of the best things about Bandon. Accessed from several places along Beach Loop Drive or from Old Town, the wide beach allows for several miles of walking to the north, the south, or both. At high tide, hikers may have to climb the stairs near the Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint, but the tide does not affect the vast majority of the walking. Features include sea birds, photography, beachcombing, huge rocks, Face Rock, picnicking, starfish, sea anemones, the south jetty, the Coquille River, and shallow fresh water streams.
